My goals. I guess.
Hello, Room 208! Welcome to my first blog post where I am going to share my goals. I've never done a blog post before so this will be interesting, right? I suppose it's important to have realistic and time-sensitive goals in life because it gives us a reason to strive for excellence or to embark on something challenging. Also, I believe goals can help us develop a plan for our future as well as keeping us productive, which brings me to my first goal: overcome laziness. This year (and hopefully for the rest of my life) I would like to keep myself productive and combat being lazy, which I suppose I already am doing considering that I write IDs and read at least every day for AP World History. :(. Anyways, this year I would also like to be more social and involved in school. That's already going to be quite a challenge; I can be very shy and reluctant to share my ideas and opinions with other people because I'm concerned about how other people think. I really need to get over that and to open myself up a little more to society. Some of my most standard and significant goals are to maintain good GPA and to get into a 4-year university. Pretty basic. As a writer, I feel like I lack in the category of descriptive writing, so hopefully, by the end of this year, I will improve and emphasize on being more descriptive. Well, I wrote quite a bit didn't I? All in all, this is just a snapshot of what I wish to achieve and I hope you all will be able to achieve your own goals as well. Since the purpose of this blog is to build a community, I think it's important as classmates that we all collaborate, help each other, and provide encouragement and support for one another to not only get through this school year but to also achieve goals of our own. That's all I would like to say, for now, I'm pretty sure you guys are getting somewhat tired reading this post. Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this and, until next time, I'll be smothered in lecture notes and lab reports as I'm trying to keep my life from falling apart. See ya soon!- Rosecka Men

Its important to set realistic goals in life because when you know what u want you wont be struggling to find out what u want to do in the long run. The goals that I have for myself this year not only in English but is to manage and balance out my life, school, and sports at the same time. Some of my goals for the future are getting to college, specifically a university and keep my grades high so then its easier for me to get to a college of my choice.
GOALS
It is important to set time sensitive goals because they will bring about improvement. It is good to have these goals because they prompt us to push back the boundaries that we have set on ourselves. We have to set these goals so that we have something that we are working towards. If we aren't striving towards anything then what is the point of trying.
This year I would like to improve my writing especially. I would like to improve my choice of words and the way that I express my emotions on paper. Explaining my answers has always been hard for me, so I want to improve the way that I justify myself and formulate my thoughts into words that actually make sense. As for my grades in all of my classes, I want to maintain an A throughout the school year. I want to be able to see things from many different perspectives and understand different mindsets better than I do now.
After high school, I would like to attend a four year university. I want to go to a university in California or Indiana since my mom's side of the family lives there. I want to have a devoted husband and children as well. One of the careers that I would like to pursue is writing novels and poetry. I want to be a successful and well known writer. As a writer, you have the power to make people aware of certain things that they don't normally think about, and you are capable of getting a valuable message across to thousands of people. I know that being a writer doesn't pay well, especially if you have a family, so I will have to find a way to achieve my goal and support my children at the same time.

GOALS - Sabrina Cazares
GOALS
It’s important to set realistic and time-sensitive goals in our lives because then, we are able to create a path for ourselves. If determined enough, that person will follow what they want and or wish.
For this school year, I hope to make it throughout the year with all “A’s”. Even though it’s a typical answer, we are all honor students; having all “A’s” is what we expect. It’s what we were taught. And if it wasn’t all “A’s”, it would be high grades with one or two “B’s”. Reading wise, my goal is to read faster and not to make so many annotations. As a writer, I will always make room for improvement. Hopefully with this class, more of my writing can come from the heart instead of putting fact after fact onto the paper, which honestly bores the reader. To be a better thinker, I want to have a goal of opening my comfort zone. When it comes to explaining how I feel or think, I shut down. I will listen to other sides of arguments, comments, and or ideas. I find them useful for my opinions.
When it comes to the future, the life that I want is chaotic. I know that I want to go to college; my first 4 years in California, and the second 4 years on the East Coast. Careers are hard for me because I can’t decide which one I want the most; there is a part of me that is asking if that’s the wrong path. I’m debating on becoming a lawyer, a writer, or a pilot in the Air Force. But I want to be a mother, and that would interfere with the careers. I don’t want to have my children think that my job, whatever it is, is more important than them. My uncle is a lawyer, it’s all I’ve ever wanted to be since I was 5. He takes me to his cases and discusses what it takes, and how much it takes. But once he had his daughter, I noticed that their family, wasn’t what I wanted. Writing has been such an important part in my life, but it won’t support my family. To be a writer, I want to be known; not just another author with a book on the shelves that only sell to a few people. I wish to join the Air Force because I want to make a difference, I want to be in the sky, and I want my kids to believe that I was someone that fought for a good reason; for them.

[KC]: Initial Introductions to the Blog
Hi, kids.
This is the blog! Here, we will write.
The blog is now live and you are able to post whenever you want. You don't have to wait for me to prompt you or require an assignment. Jump on. Write something. Share your ideas. Create a new post and/or comment on someone else's.
A few notes: do not let this become a Twitter or Tumblr page. This is a place for academic discussion. Build off of ideas we're discussing in class. Make connections between our ideas/discussions and things that are happening in the world. Pose questions to generate a discussion. Respectfully share your ideas and opinions. Be confident in the things that you write and the ideas that you have. Also, be sure you revisit your posts to make sure that you respond back to those who continue your discussion in the comment section.
Let's get this thing going!
