Who do I think epitomizes Batman?
Batman, as we all know, is a very popular character in the DC universe. It has always been debated whether Batman is a true hero or not, yet the famed vigilante has obtained the attention of many fans due to his interesting personality traits. I mean, Batman has intrigued audiences by his "dark" presence and depressing mindset, which we don't see often in heroes. He is dedicated to fighting against crime even if it means the police would not always approve his approaches, and Batman has been shaped by the tragic death of his parents, the event that drove him into vigilantism. Basically people are drawn by Batman's past and his characteristics that distinguish him from the stereotypical superhero who is always motivated to serve justice and is always seemingly confident. Plus, the fact that Batman is a human being and does not possess superpowers makes the audience relate more to him. And with the notion that Batman faces an internal struggle as he is torn between himself and another alter ego, Bruce Wayne, is quite intriguing for many to analyze. That being said, someone who I think reflects some of Batman's traits is one of my cousins, who is going to remain unnamed in this blog since I don't know if I have permission to explicitly mention him. I feel like my cousin is somewhat similar to Batman since he has this tendency to remain alone and to keep to himself. My cousin has never had much of a bright and positive aura initially and he may seem a little cold and stern in the first place. I wouldn't blame him though; as a senior in high school who's trying to maintain good academics and trying to cope with the transition into the real world, life is not always rainbows and butterflies. However, I know that deep down inside, my cousin is good-natured and considerate, its just that he doesn't want to show that side of him. I find that my cousin reflects some characteristics of Batman because my cousin does have good intentions, but his approaches may not always be ideal. Batman also has good intentions of protecting Gotham, yet the way he handles the situation is not in favor of legal authority. Of course, my cousin and Batman are not similar to significant extent (my cousin is by no means a vigilante), but it just goes to show that there's a little bit of Batman in everyone, at least almost everyone. 😅

I think that your cousin is going to do great things in life once he gets over the transition into the real world. His struggle is a big fear to many, but I think he will get through it just fine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the nice comment! I'm sure he will be just fine, he's more productive as an adult than I am :)
