Who is your Batman?

     In the graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns, people see Batman as a vigilante who only does things for his own benefits. However, Batman is a person who is suffering sorrow from the death of his parents and is constantly haunted by the fact that he is not as strong as he used to be. Also, throughout the novel, we recognize that Batman is not the person who the people believe he is because in the novel all he is trying to do is to save Gotham city from any danger that comes its way.
     One person in my life that I believe best epitomize Batman is my brother because my brother is always willing to do what he wants even when people are opposed to it. For instance, his decision to join the Marines after high school became a controversy by my family since it is very dangerous and extremely difficult. Although numerous questioned his decision, he still went for it and joined the Marines. Thus they are similar because they are both willing to pursue their intentions, staying disengaged on other people's opinions.
     In addition, I think that my brother resembles Batman because he is quite headstrong like Batman. Whenever my brother puts his mind to an idea and someone tries to change his perspective, he doesn't try to alter his opinions based on other people's judgments, but he does what he thinks is right. This is similar to Batman because no matter how much people advice Batman to stay out of the media's sight, he still pursues what he believes is right and will bring justice to the world. Also, they are similar because no matter who it is when someone needs help, they don't hesitate to help that person.
